Hebridean Bird spottingSpring Extravaganza The Southern Isles of the Hebrides is famous for its wildlife and bird watching. With such a wide variety of habitats and rich bio diversity is it any wonder that more than 10,000 bird watchers make their way to the Uists every spring and summer to catch a glimpse of more than 173 breeding species and some of our more unusual migrants. The spring migration sees the islands come alive with the chorus and song of arriving birds. Some circumnavigated the globe to reach these pristine shores, others blown off course with strong westerlys making spring a great time to spot the unusual. You just never know what rare bird you might find or where, along the coastlines, on the Machairs or in the moors.
As a family run hotel group we pride ourselves in providing comfortable accommodation, quality local produce and favourable all inclusive rates for birding tours. Our hotels can cater for the most discerning bird watcher, while our locations offer the bird watcher the opportunity to watch birdlife while relaxing in the comfort of our well appointed lounges or dining room conservatory.
With more than twenty years experience in catering for discerning guests and advising them of local excursions we are now pleased to announce a new partnership with a local wildlife operator Hebridean Adventures. Through this new association we are now able to offer bird watchers the option of booking birding tours with local guides and to maximise their birding experience while in the Uists.
